The students wanted to learn about their teachers’ lives as students: their experiences, best and worst memories, reasons for study, and their educational journey. We organized a student-teacher interaction session in which students asked their teachers questions and then heard their teachers' stories.

Chelsea Center teacher Pragya Rajbhandari (AKA Daisy Mam) shared some recent news along with some breathtaking photos from just a few days ago: "A little break is always a good idea for oneself, and with the staff of Chelsea and Papa's House, it's always the greatest. Following a year-long lockdown, the CECC and Papa's House team enjoyed a getaway. One wise person once remarked, 'Love is the meal of life, and travel is the dessert.'" Location: Chisapani, Nuwakot, a district near Kathmandu.

"The past two years of working at the Chelsea Center were the best years of my life in Kathmandu, ever since I left my hometown to pursue my higher studies. Here I got an opportunity to serve, to learn, to make mistakes, re-learn, and grow," Meenashi shared her experiences on her farewell day.
Meenahsi is preparing to go to India to continue her higher studies. During her tenure, she has been a caring teacher to her students, a supportive colleague to her team, and an amazing professional to the center. Like always, her farewell day was a festival of tears, prayer, and compassion for all of us at the Chelsea Center. She will be missed by her students in the class, and by her team, in everything we do together.

Gath is pursuing her Masters in Philosophy studies which is required in order to eventually pursue a PhD in English. An avid reader, she shares a deep interest in writing. On Saturday, 17 young adults joined in for interactions with her as a part of our "Interaction with Professionals" program. "It was an enriching conversation," says Anu, one of the participants. "There were a lot of new things I learned that will help me with future choices."

The Chelsea Centre Family organized a program to celebrate International Women’s Day. The main purpose of the program was to celebrate womanhood. Like every year, we conducted several activities to mark the significance of this day as well as entertain our students. Various games like Musical Chairs, bursting balloon and quiz games were organized. In addition to that we also had several performances from teachers and students. The program was filled with fun, laughter and joy. It brought all of us a little closer and encouraged us to grow together as women.

Today was the first day of the 13th week of the Mentorship Program: a day to present ideas and insights, and then make suggestions for what the mentees would like to learn next. This was our fourth presentation day, and their projects look great, right? They are learning the basics of graphic designing and using those tools to design their presentations.

On the special occasion of Saraswoti Puja, a small celebration was held at the Chelsea Center to worship and show respect for the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, and learning. This was an opportunity for the teachers to have their students to return to school after 9 months of lockdown. At exactly half past 12 the puja was commenced. We gathered and did puja, and spent the rest of our time with our respected students who were here. It was a blessing that they were here to worship as well as be together with their teachers. One of our students, who joined the Chelsea Center two years ago and has been a regular student ever since, brought her grandson for the festivities.

The students voted for a follow-up session on ‘Programming and Software-Development’ presentation led by Ruben Maharjan at the Chelsea Center. Students in grade nine and above attended the session. In the one and half hour session Ruben shared the basics of programming, different languages, his own story of working a programmer, and career prospects in Nepal. At the end of the session the students asked questions.

In the Mentorship Program we are working with a group of 12 recent SEE graduates, with the vision to equip our students with professional writing, speaking, presentation, and basic designing skills. The students led presentations on different topics of their interest/choice, ranging from Old Age Homes and Entrepreneurship to a subject they are studying at school, such as economics and accounting.

Sushil, one of our longtime math teachers, and his students in grade 9 designed and led a presentation on "Fundamentals of Share Market and Investment." The presentation was based on their school curriculum in mathematics and further research. Along with the students in grade 8 and 10, 20 other young adults in grade 11 and above participated in the workshop.

As a part of the Mentorship Program, Prashanna Bista, Director of the Chelsea Chelsea, led a 2-hour workshop entitled "Relationships For Wellbeing" for 8 young adults in grade 11. Early in January, he will lead the same workshop for a second group of young adults . This was the first workshop of the 14-hour course he developed during the lockdown. Witnessing the interest and willingness of the students he has decided to lead the entire course over a period of 3 months. With the assigned task following the first workshop of practicing what they learned on the first day, the second workshop will be held after two weeks.
